Word Play Social (4th Tuesdays)
Every Fourth Tuesday, 1:30pm – 4:00pm (drop in) — Pullen Room
March Session: Tuesday, March 25th
Looking to exercise your brain and have some social fun? Join us every fourth Tuesday from 1:30pm to 4pm at Hughes Library for our Wordplay Social event! This monthly gathering is the perfect opportunity to play classic word games like Scrabble and Bananagrams, or explore other engaging vocabulary-based activities.
Whether you’re a seasoned Scrabble champion or new to the world of competitive spelling, all skill levels are welcome. Studies show that regular engagement with word games can boost memory, cognitive flexibility, and problem-solving skills – plus it’s just plain fun! We provide a welcoming, judgment-free environment where you can drop in, stay for the full session, or just pop in for a quick game.
Feel free to bring your own word game boards and accessories, or use the selection we have on hand. This is a self-guided event, so you can play at your own pace and mingle with fellow wordsmiths as much or as little as you’d like. It’s the perfect way to meet new friends, sharpen your mind, and have an afternoon of laidback, literary-minded entertainment.
No registration is required – just show up on the fourth Tuesday of the month ready to get your game on! We look forward to seeing you there.
