Celebrating Easter

Easter is annually observed on a Sunday, moving between March 22nd and April 25th — the standard definition being “…it is the first Sunday after the full Moon that occurs on or after the spring equinox. If the full Moon falls on a Sunday then Easter is the next Sunday.” Easter is not a federal holiday in the US, so businesses operate per usual. Easter is a commemoration of the resurrection of Jesus Christ three days after crucifixion according to Christian tradition, accounting for the most popular day of Christian church attendance. Easter-related celebrations include the prior Holy Week and Good Friday. Other aspects of the holiday have come to include: the Easter Bunny, eggs and Easter egg hunts and Easter egg coloring, chocolate, and gift-giving.
