Celebrating Presidents’ Day

Presidents’ Day, officially Washington’s Birthday, is annually observed the third Monday in February. The holiday was created to commemorate the birthday of President George Washington and then President Abraham Lincoln as well. Since the passage of Congress’s 1971 Uniform Monday Holiday Law, wherein the holiday was situated between both presidents’ birthdays, the holiday has unofficially developed to celebrate all US presidents. The post office, state and local governments, banks & financial markets, and schools are closed. Your library’s staff have curated a list of 10 library items to help facilitate your celebration of this reverential memorial day!
