Closure of Pocono Township Library

Dear Patrons,

We would like to inform you that the Pocono Township Branch of the Eastern Monroe Public Library, located in the Pocono Township Municipal Building, will be closing as of July 3, 2025. For 35 years, this branch has proudly served the community from its space in the municipal building. We are deeply grateful for the strong partnership with the township and for the continued support of our patrons throughout the years.

The closure is related to changes in the use of the municipal building as the township prepares to move to a new facility. While this means the branch will no longer operate, we remain dedicated to serving the residents of Pocono Township. Library services will continue through our other locations, including the Hughes Library, and we will be expanding Bookmobile service within Pocono Township to help meet local needs. More details about this expanded service will be shared soon.

We also invite you to take advantage of our growing selection of digital resources, available anytime at www.monroepl.org.

Patrons will be able to drop off materials until Friday, June 27.

The last day to place holds to pickup at Pocono Township is Monday, June 2.

When is the last day I can pick up my holds at Pocono Township?

The last day to pick up holds will be Thursday, July 3.

My pickup library for holds is Pocono Township, how can I change that?

All patron accounts with a pickup location for Pocono Township will automatically be changed to the Hughes Library branch on Friday, July 3.  If you would like to pick up at another library please contact us and we will gladly assist you.
