Theme: End Book Banning

Join us for an inspiring day celebrating authors and the power of free expression! The Eastern Monroe Library is proud to host the Author Expo 2025, where all authors from Monroe County are welcome to showcase their work and stand together against book banning.

What to Expect:

  • Participate in themed activities and displays

Why We Must Protect Books
Books are more than just stories; they are windows into diverse perspectives, ideas, and cultures. As writers, we have a responsibility to defend the freedom to read and ensure that knowledge and creativity are not stifled by censorship. When books are banned, voices are silenced, and communities lose access to important discussions that shape our world. Let’s unite to preserve literature and the right to share stories without fear.

For Authors in Monroe County and Surrounding Areas

Calling all authors! If you’re based in Monroe County or a nearby county, we’d love to have you join us for Author Expo 2025 at the Eastern Monroe Public Library. Proudly organized by The Pocono Liars Club, this event is your chance to showcase your work, connect with local readers, and stand up for the freedom to read—the theme of this year’s expo.

We encourage authors to incorporate the theme into their table displays, book selections, or giveaways—it’s not required, but it’s a great way to engage readers and show support for the cause.

To apply, please complete the registration form with your author info, book and publication details, social media (if any), space needs, and publicity info. All submissions should be sent to Pocono.Liars@gmail.com. Any questions? Reach out to the same email address.

Important: Applications are due by June 1st. Tables are free, but space is limited—so apply early!
