July & August Tech Thursday Classes!

Discover the world of technology with our Free Tech Thursday classes at Eastern Monroe Public Library – Hughes Branch during July and August! All classes are free and start at 2:00 pm in the Pullen Room on the second floor of the Hughes Library.

Registration opens June 1st for all July classes and July 1st for all August classes. Remember, registration is required, and class size is limited, so secure your spot early! Each class lasts approximately 1 hour.

Intro. Computers and the Internet

  • Date: Thursday, July 11th

Digital Reading 101: Intro. to Library E-Books and E-Audiobooks

iOS Essentials: Navigating iPads and iPhones for Beginners

Perfect for those new to Apple devices or for those who need a  refresher, we’ll guide you through navigating and using basic features and apps. Participants should have basic familiarity with touchscreen devices and using the internet. Keep in mind that individual experiences may vary  depending on device age and iOS updates.

Introduction to Brainfuse

  • Description: Unlock academic and career success with Brainfuse, a free resource for EMPL library cardholders! Learn how to access live, virtual expert help across subjects like Math, Science, Reading/Writing, and more, alongside 24/7 resources including video content, an Online Writing Lab, and a Homework Question Center. Additionally, older students and adults can access test prep and career services. Designed for adult learners, parents, and caregivers — this class requires participants to be familiar with computers and internet navigation. Registrations required due to limited space.

Internet Safety & Secure Habits: Essential Digital Skills

Navigating the Stock Market with Library Tools
