Local History & Genealogy
The Local History and Genealogy Room at the Hughes Library (second floor) contains materials related to the people, history, and development of Monroe County, Pennsylvania. The collection includes books, newspapers, census records, cemetery indexes, church records, family histories, online databases, and other Monroe County resources.

LDS FamilySearch Affiliate Library Program
Eastern Monroe Public Library is a member of the LDS FamilySearch Affiliate Library Program. Previously, this membership provided access to FamilySearch’s microfilm collection. As of August 31, 2017, microfilm circulation has been suspended.
FamilySearch now offers access to millions of restricted digital images to patrons of affiliated libraries, including images previously available only at family history centers. At Eastern Monroe Public Library, patrons gain access to roughly 25% of the 1.5+ million rolls of microfilm (1.5 billion images) already digitized.
