Museum Passes
Adults with an Eastern Monroe Public Library card in good standing are welcome to check out a pass to the following local museums and attractions for free admission and more. Passes are available at the main Hughes Library. See policy information below for more details.
🚚 America on Wheels
America on Wheels is an over-the-road transportation museum in Allentown, PA.
Pass admits: 2 adults and their children up to age 17 to visit the museum for free.
🌿 Bowman’s Hill Wildflower Preserve
Bowman’s Hill Wildflower Preserve is a 134-acre nature preserve, botanical garden, and accredited museum located at 1635 River Road, New Hope, PA.
Pass admits: 2 adults and any accompanying children to visit the museum for free.
🎨 Crayola Experience (Discount)
Dozens of colorful and creative activities and a full day of fun awaits families in Easton, PA.
Discounted Admission: 22% for Library patrons. Tickets must be purchased ahead of time through the
library link.
🏰 Eastern State Penitentiary
ESP was once the most famous and expensive prison in the world, housing criminals like “Slick Willie” Sutton and Al Capone. Tours offer a glimpse at life inside the prison’s historic cell blocks.
Pass admits: up to 6 individuals age 7 or over – under 7 complimentary.
🦁 Elmwood Park Zoo
This 80-acre zoo maintains a collection of over 100 species including bald and golden eagles, jaguars, red pandas, Chacoan peccaries, howler monkeys, and gray wolves.
Pass admits: 2 adults and up to 6 children.
🔭 ESU Schisler Museum & McMunn Planetarium
The only science center in the Pocono Mountains where you can enjoy nature and astronomy all under one roof!
Pass admits: up to 10 family members.
🎨 Everhart Museum
The Everhart Museum of Natural History, Science & Art is a non-profit museum located in Nay Aug Park, Scranton, PA.
Pass admits: 2 adults and children in household age 17 and under.
🏞️ Grey Towers National Historic Site
Located in Milford, PA, Grey Towers was the home of Gifford Pinchot, founder and first Chief of the US Forest Service. Trails, exhibits, visitor center, and ticketed museum tours available.
Pass admits: 2 adults; children under 12 free.
🏛️ Mercer Museum
The Mercer Museum is a six-story concrete castle designed by Henry Mercer. Features local/national exhibits and a core museum collection of over 17,000 pre-Industrial tools.
Pass admits: 2 adults and 2 children.
🏭 National Museum of Industrial History
Housed in the former Bethlehem Steel facility, the museum preserves and displays the industrial history of the nation.
Pass admits: 2 adults and up to 4 children.
EMPL Museum Pass Policy
Check Out Information
- Museum passes can be checked out for 5 days and cannot be renewed. Passes are available for pickup only at the main Hughes Library.
- Passes may be requested in person or by phone. If available, the requested pass can be held until closing.
- Passes must be picked up during library hours. Only one pass per family at a time.
Return Information
- Do not place Museum Passes in outside book drops. Return in person to the circulation desk.
- Overdue passes: $5/day.
General Information
- Eastern Monroe Public Library cardholders age 18+ with an account in good standing are eligible.
- No fee to borrow a Museum Pass, but fees apply if returned late, damaged, or lost.
- Borrowers must sign the EMPL Museum Pass Policy for first-time checkouts.
- Review museum-specific guidelines. Check hours and additional fees before visiting.
Late, Lost, or Stolen Museum Passes
- Overdue: $5/day. Maximum fine equals cost of the specific pass.
- Damaged: patron charged replacement fee.
- Lost or stolen: patron responsible for full replacement cost.
