Free Sunday Film: Sarah’s Oil (2025)

July 19 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Join us for Sarah’s Oil, an inspiring true story set in Oklahoma Indian Territory in the early 1900s. The film follows Sarah Rector, an African American girl who believes there is oil beneath the seemingly barren land she is allotted. As greedy oil interests close in, Sarah works with her family, friends, and Texas wildcatters to protect her land, eventually becoming one of the nation’s first African American female millionaires at just 11 years old.

Starring Zachary Levi, Naya Desir-Johnson, Sonequa Martin-Green, Garret Dillahunt, and Bridget Regan. Rated PG for thematic content, some violence, language including racial slurs, a suggestive reference, and brief smoking. Shown with closed captions/English subtitles.
